Hey there friends,
I know I say this every year but i can’t believe it is 2020 already! Last year was a busy one but pretty good overall. I did a lot of traveling, bought a house, had several adventures with friends, and so much more. In this post, I would like to share a short recap of last year with you all. I posted several blog posts but I know that there were some things that I missed.
Let’s start with January.
January started with us at the NC house celebrating New Years with my family. It is the only time when I get to experience actually chilly weather and wear all of those fluffy sweaters that I keep acquiring. Once we got back home, we spent the month deep cleaning the house and decluttering for the move.
February is one of my favorite months, mostly because it is my birthday month! I love getting to spend time with my family and friends celebrating anything but especially my birthday. in 2019 I turned the big 30. Tian and I threw our annual Galentine’s party, which was a blast!
March went by super fast for some reason. We took a short trip to St. Augustine. Tian and I did several photoshoots in the nicer weather. the 9th was Clara’s second birthday and you know I had to celebrate! She got a cake and some new toys.
The month was short but sweet.
April was a hectic month for me. We sold our house and spent the month apartment hunting. Thankfully we ended up finding our new house before we had to move to an apartment. Packing was so much harder than I expected and we had WAY more things than I thought we did haha.
May was another travel month. We went to Birmingham to celebrate my sister’s college graduation. We helped her move back to Orlando and got her settled in her new place. She and I also tried out some crazy yoga classes. Other than that, we spent the month choosing floor and kitchen finishes for the new place while we waited to close.
June was such a good month. My entire family traveled to Canada to visit Lake Louise. We saw so many beautiful places and made memories that will last a lifetime. Getting on a long flight to another country was a big anxiety trigger for me and overcoming it felt so good. I consider it a personal win.
July and August are combined because I did almost noting but renovate the new house and move our stuff into it. We were blessed with the chance to redesign the kitchen from scratch and change out the flooring and paint to give the place a fresh look. I will be posting several before and after posts in 2020.
September saw more traveling. My mom and I took a girls trip to north west Florida to visit hubby’s family. We had a blast house shopping and eating lots of great food. I then came home and decorated early for Fall.
In November, hubs and I traveled to see his family for Thanksgiving. I helped my friend paint her nursery to look like the Hogwarts Castle. Not too much happened other than that. I had the flu for half of the month and was laid up in bed with YouTube and Netflix.
Lastly, we had December. I got to decorate the new house for Christmas which was so much fun. I love decorating new spaces. Most of the month was spent with friends and family, going to holiday parties, baking cookies, and reflecting on the year together. We spent New Years like we did last year, in NC and it was a great trip.
I hope you all had a wonderful 2019 as well and if you didn’t, I hope 2020 brings you many good things and memories.
As always, thanks for reading!
