Home Office Makeover: The Inspiration

Hey guys, welcome to another home decor post! This week I am sharing the home office inspiration. I am in the midst of putting it all together. Once I do, I will be sharing how it all turned out but for now, here is some of the items that I am getting for the home office makeover.

The Plan

First thing first, I chose a color scheme. As you may know, I like to keep things pretty neutral. So when I pick a “color scheme” it is more like a group of shades of brown and taupe and gray that I know work well together. Then, I pick some textures to add some depth to the room. I like to incorporate a plant (real or fake) in each room to add an aspect of “life” to the space. Here are all of my notes and the products that I have chosen for the room.

The Shopping List

I wanted a chair that was comfortable but didn’t have a large footprint. This rattan style chair from Target fit the color scheme perfectly and fit those criteria as well. It is very on trend and pretty budget friendly.

This blanket that I got for the chair is the softest blanket on the planet and is so cozy for just sitting and reading a book in the side chair. I am so happy with this purchase and can’t wait to use it once the room is finished.

Because my office is in the same space as our kitchen and our kitchen has white cabinetry, I chose a white desk to tie in with that. I opted for a larger desk so that it could hold all of my work stuff as well as hubby’s computer gear. This one has so much storage and even fits our printer.

On top of the desk, I chose a lamp that matches the side chair and a set of faux peonies to add some “life” to the space. The office is right next door to the french doors leading onto our small patio, so I needed to tie in some greenery.

I knew that I wanted to do a four-picture grid gallery wall. I ended up going with white frames that came with thick mats for extra depth. All of the white gives the room an open feel that makes the room look bigger.

The rug that I chose is from Urban Outfitters and I think that it is the perfect neutral for the space. As I have found, it is hard having rugs and pets so we will see how long it lasts haha.

I am obsessed with the pampas grass craze and was so pumped when I found it at Pier 1 Imports. I don’t think they ship it because of how delicate it is but if you click the link, you can buy online and pick up at your nearest store. I put it in a shorter white vase with some texture.

We have some outdoor pillows that we like to use on the egg chair when we are out on the patio but they aren’t waterproof, so I got this little two toned basket to keep them in inside when we aren’t using them.

Thank you guys so much for reading. Be sure to check back soon for the final home office reveal.

xoxo,
