Spring Closet Makeover Part 1

Hey friends! I am so excited to share today’s post with you all. As I have mentioned before, each month we are redoing parts of the house we bought last year  and next month is our master closet. It is perfect timing with spring being here and I have definitely been in spring cleaning mode.

Right now, we are in the planning stage and I want to show you some of the products that are part of my vision board for the closet. Everything is from Wayfair. I love that they have free 2 day shipping and that I can get everything really quickly once I am ready to go.

First I will show you the before pics of our closet so you can see what our current situation is and what size closet we are dealing with.

Our closet is right off of the master bathroom and is a decent size. It is way smaller than the one we used to have so we kind of just packed everything in. With the new closet, I plan on downsizing A LOT. I have been getting into the minimalist/capsule wardrobe thing and am ready to give it a try.wayfair closet makeover

As you can tell, I really NEED to get rid of some things.

THE PLAN

Hubby and I share the closet so we have to accommodate both of our clothes and shoes in there. I have kind of claimed the left long wall and he has taken over the back wall. As you can see in my drawing below, I would like to have a shelf unit in the center of my wall for storing my purses, backpacks, jewelry, etc. with two rods on the left for tops and sweaters and one tall rod on the right for dresses and coats.

Hubs just wants one long rod with a shelf above for his pants and nice shirts.

Then, on the wall to the right, we will have hooks for belts, hats, and more bags lol.

THE PRODUCTS

All of the products that I chose are meant to be very versatile. The shelf units are modular and stackable. I also chose a lot of storage options. The vacuum packed storage bags for clothes are great for bulky winter clothes that you don’t need taking up tons of room year round and the baskets are great for small cosmetics bags and accessories that you may not use very often.

I added the pouf for people with bigger closets that may want a place to sit to put on their shoes or lay out outfits on. They are very versatile and useful.

The chandelier is just for extra flare. We have a giant ugly builder-grade light in ours and it has definitely got to go. We also have super tall ceilings so putting something like a chandelier in is a great option for making the room feel more balanced.
